Chase the sun...

Java came to me at 12 weeks old from a no-kill shelter in Dodgeville, WI. The
shelter thought she might be a greyhound, and I was volunteering with greyhound
rescue, so I went to pick her up. Little did I know, this greyhound puppy would
turn out to be a pure bred
Plott Hound!

Java lived with two senior greyhounds, Veta and Clio, for the first 1-1/2 years of
her life. Veta
ran and played with her, and Clio tattled on her every time she got up
on
the dining room table, grabbed a red marker in her mouth, stole my mitten off
my hand or tore around the yard with a red plastic bucket over her head.
Both Veta and Clio have since moved forward,
but their influence continues to shine in Java. Bless them
both for keeping Java in line. We needed the help.

Java grew up chasing and being chased by greyhounds, but one sunny day, it turned against us.
During a routine run at the baseball diamond, a pack of eleven greyhounds shifted their course and went after Java - rolling her on her back, and attacking her. The greyhounds were muzzled so Java wasn't hurt physically, but mentally and emotionally we had our work cut out.

Tellington TTouch® has helped us with barking, separation anxiety, jumping up, leash pulling, reactivity to dogs, cats and people, shyness, nail trimming and anxiety.
Shamanic Healing
has helped to heal past physical, spiritual and emotional trauma, to help her regain power she had lost
from past traumas and to help restore balance.
Animal Communication
has helped me to understand Java alot better, as well as allowing her a chance to speak her voice.
Boy, does she have a voice!

Life Coaching has helped me to forgive myself, forgive the animals who attacked and to learn to trust, improve my
confidence and have faith again.

Java’s wellness also includes Healing Touch, Chinese medicine, chiropractic care, holistic veterinary care, homeopathy,
craniosacral, massage and reiki, as well as a high quality organic diet and various forms of mental, physical and emotional
exercise.

Java is the reason I do what I do for a living. She is the delightful and wise spirit behind Dancing Porcupine who has helped me to grow like I never knew an
animal could.

Java continues to teach many of those she meets and warms the heart of everyone who truly gets to know her. She is one of those “once-in-a-lifetime” animals, and I feel blessed that she chose me in this lifetime.

Java’s favorite things are: chasing squirrels, cheese, being under the covers,
chasing her tail, lying in the sun, chasing squirrels, performing her myriad of
tricks, having her head rubbed, running free, chasing squirrels, playing hide and seek, going to the bank, warm laundry, cheese, sniffing and hunting for treats in
the house, kisses, learning, chasing squirrels, making people laugh, and
being understood and respected.

Java would like to add that she is very smart AND beautiful.
