MEET SAGE

Renaissance Woman

I grew up around horses, chickens, cats, dogs, rabbits, cows, and plenty of people. I played in cornfields and rode our Old English Sheepdog, Josh, through the house like a pony. I rode my mini bike straight into the swingset, pretended I was a synchronized swimmer, collected money for the Jerry Lewis Telethon, sold enough greeting cards at age 5 to buy an electric race car set, and individuated as a toddler. And, I have always loved looking up toward the stars.

My past has molded me into who I am today. I went to college at UW-Madison on a tuba scholarship and played trombone in High School and College marching band for 6 years. For fun, I made candles and jewelry, played music, cooked and baked, danced, and played outside. I still do most of that, and I also write books, have recorded a shamanic drum journey album, and sell our own brand of ceremonial cacao and stone ground dark chocolate.

After nine years of owning a graphic design studio, I became certified to teach K-12 art, which I loved immensely for over a decade. For over 10 years I also played triple cello steel pans in a really great steel drum band, OD TAPO IMI. We traveled and toured worldwide, and played extensively on radio, television, and in our hearts. I’ve lived, loved, and lost, and I’m not afraid of living or dying.

From Cheesehead to the Grand Canyon

I’m a Madison, Wisconsin native who got tired of shoveling snow. I left the Midwest because snow is colder and heavier than sand. In 2007 I met a man who would become my second husband, and in 2014, he and I followed a dream to live by the ocean and the whales in Northern California. In 2015 we added a lovely dog, Reggae, to our family. In 2017, my mom’s death and the California fires moved our family to Prescott, AZ. I’m elated to create our home in the Prescott National Forest in Prescott, AZ. We are blessed to live among the sacredness of the mountains, lakes, forests, and all the beautiful critters.

The Birth of Dancing Porcupine

Java showed up in my life in 2001 as a frightened puppy. She needed more support than I knew how to give. Dancing Porcupine began in 2002 because I wanted a gentler training method for her. What started as a quiet little idea has become a much broader business. Dancing Porcupine includes a variety of soulful solutions for people and animals. Java is the reason Dancing Porcupine exists. Our dog, Reggae, is the reason I continue.

Dancing Porcupine offers animal (and human) behavior training, life coaching, and telepathic services for living and deceased people and animals. We also offer animal hospice consulting, celebration facilitation for weddings and funerals, and a variety of healing options. As if that’s not enough, jump into one of our spiritual adventure trips to touch your soul even more deeply!

Why I do it…

I do this because I care. My values are Connection, Freedom, Nature, Love, Integrity. I care deeply about people, animals, and the planet, and I’m an honest person who leads with integrity. Please give me a call today to create an easier life for both you and your animals.

The first 10 minutes are always free for all new non-emergency phone/Zoom clients worldwide. And as always, I also offer a FREE 1/2 hour Life Coaching Intake via phone/Zoom for anyone ready to consider an even greater life!

I double dog dare you!”
